Some months ago we did these big holes (50x50x50) for the roses. In December the roses arrived and we planted them. All of them have little leaves except Rosa mundi (the older one), but she has little red leaf buds!
I ordered Englantine, Golden Celebration, Brother Cadfael and Rosa mundi. The last photo is from David Austins catalogue.

hace unos meses, en el jardín de la tia, preparamos unos agujeros enormes para plantar rosas. Llegaron en diciembre y las plantamos, algunas con quince dias de diferencia. Las que plantamos primero son las que han crecido mas. En total son once rosales. Englantine, Brother Cadfael, Golden Celebration, Rosa mundi... Todas tienen hojitas menos la última que plantamos , Rosa mundi (la más antigua de todas, los romanos ya la cultivaban!),pero tiene unas yemas muy hinchadas.

this great ficus is waiting for me at my parents house. I couldnt find one of this at Bilbao, so I asked a florist in Barcelona to get a little one. But she only could find a big one! 1,60m is too much plant for our home...

So I left him at Barcelona. My mother is so happy with this beautiful plant!

Le pedí uno de 0,60...Pero solo encontró uno de 1'60m. Así que lo tuve que dejar en casa de mis padres. Mi madre está encantada con él!

I was impressed when some months ago I discovered this ficus benjamina variegata in a windowshop near my work. Yesterday I came into the shop and asked a few questions to his owner:

-How old is she? She is seventeen years old.

-How many times have you transplanted her? Only once, eight years ago.

-How often do you water her? Once a week, with a 1,5l bottle.

The girl was so nice, she is in the photo (I asked her to pose, for the scale!). She insisted in the importance of the place, this one is in a corner with a lot of light. Thank you!

some months ago a nice customer asks me for an aporocactus. Her grandmother had a big one, and my nostalgic customer was triying to find the same plant. Nobody (nurseries) around Bilbao had the plant but... this weekend I was in Barcelona at a flower fair and I found the plant! I bought the plant for her and she was so grateful that she made a cake for me. Of course she made my day!

In Barcelona I meet the charming Fatima and Alicia from Arbolande.

Hace unos meses vino una clienta preguntando por un cactus "cola de rata". Me contó que su abuela tenía uno precioso y ella se acordaba de esa planta y estaba intentando encontrar una. Pregunté a los proveedores pero ninguno tenía, pero... este fin de semana fui a Barcelona a una feria de flores y encontré la planta! La compré para mi clienta y ella se ha puesto tan contenta que esta mañana me ha traido un cake casero!

Haizea made a mountain with all the clean clothes waiting to be fold. After all the lots of work of these days today I only want to work slowly, cleaning and reorganizing the shop.

Haizea hizo una especie de montaña-flan con toda la ropa limpia para doblar. Estos dias han sido una locura en la floristería, hoy solo me apetece reorganizar y limpiar la tienda.

today we have a public holiday at the Basc Country so I decided to attack this DIY project that I have in mind for long time. The previous owners of our house left this beautiful (but too much serious for our house ) piece of furniture. I wanted to paint the exterior in a turquoise blue and the interior in the blue that you see at right on top... but I have started to sand it and I like the wood color that appears...

aprovechando que tenemos un dia de fiesta en Euskadi he decidido pintar este mueble que nos dejaron los antiguos propietarios de la casa. Me gusta pero es demasiado oscuro y serio para nuestro estudio. La idea era pintar el exterior en el tono turquesa de la izquierda y el interior de la vitrina y de los cajones en el azul de la derecha. pero lo he empezado a lijar y me gusta el tono rubio de la madera que aparece debajo...

yesterday we went to see Ana of Bizilore. She gave us a lot of information about plants for cutting. At auntie´s house we are preparing a little cutting garden.

ayer fuimos a visitar a Ana de Bizilore. Nos dió un montón de información sobre plantas tradicionales que pueden utilizarse como flores de corte. Estamos preparando un pequeño jardín para abastecer parcialmente mi futura tienda.

we had celebrated today our nephew birthday, two years! Zorionak Enekotxu!

what I liked the most of today: this morning at the swimming pool we were only three people swimming , lunch at Unai´s house , I planted apart a little tradescantia who arrived by chance in the same pot as a senecio herreanus, and the best thing is that tomorrow in Spain we have a public holiday! So tomorrow morning zzz
